of the heart to look at the valves and heart muscle function.
Pacemaker/Defibrillator Clinic:
to evaluate status of the pacemaker, defribrillator function and
battery status.
24 Hour Holter Monitoring:
recording device that monitors the patient's heart rhythm and
rate for a 24-48 hour interval.
30 Day Event Monitoring: recording
device that monitors the patient's heart rate and rhythm for a
30 day interval.

Carotid
Ultrasound: ultrasound of the carotid arteries in the
neck to assess the amouont of plaquing and risk for stroke.
Abdominal Ultrasound: vascular ultrasound of
the abdominal aorta to assess for the amount of plaquing and check
for aneurysms.
Renal Ultrasound: vascular ultrasond of the renal
arteries to seess for blockages as a cause for hypertension.
Lower Extremity Ultrasound:
Venous Study: to rule out deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and venous
insufficiency.
Arterial Study: to assess for plaquing or blockages in the arteries
of the legs (peripheral vasular disease).
Regular Stress Test: a modality
to assess for the status of coronary blood flow and arrhythmias.
However, it may yield indeterminate results.
Nuclear Stress Test: this
test involves the injection of a radioactive isotopes to improve
the diagnostic accuracy. The isotope circulates in the bloodstream
and shows if your heart muscle is receiving adequate blood supply
under stress and/or rest conditions. The radioactive isotopes
have been shown to be safe and are used routinely worldwide. Longboat
Cardiology is the first practice in the Sarasota/Bradenton area
to privately own a digital nuclear camera by the Digirad Company.
Coumadin Clinic: designed
for patients on anticoagulation therapy and is an alternative
to laboratory blood testing. Results are immediate and obtained
by a finger stick. Patients are closely monitored and receive
a personal patient education throughout their therapy.
