Colleen M. Healy, M.D.

Dr. Healy was born in Wichita, Kansas, the fourth child of a BS2 Airforce Navigator. She moved around most of her childhood, then her family settled in Orlando, Florida when she was in Junior High School.

She attended college at the University of Central Florida in Orlando. Dr. Healy graduated Summa Cum Laude in 1981 with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Biology. She went on the attended the University of Miami Medical School and graduated in 1985.

During college she worked as an Assistant Research Chemist for the Naval Research Lab, Underwater Sound Reference Department.

From Miami, she headed back to Orlando for a three year Internal Medicine Residency at Orlando Regional Medical Center. After her residency, she attended Tulane University in New Orleans to complete her Fellowship in Cardiology.

After completing her Fellowship in 1990, she began her practice with the Heart Center of Sarasota and made Sarasota her home.

In 2001, she decided to leave the "big" group and go into private practice. She and her husband, Todd, opened up a practice on Longboat Key, Longboat Cardiology.

Dr. Healy and Todd have been happily married and working together for over three years. In her spare time, Dr. Healy enjoys spending time with her husband (away from the office) and their baby, Lilly the Dalmatian!
